Dear Friends from Suomen Tolkien Seura,

greetings from fellow Tolkienites of the Hungarian Tolkien Society. We are writing to you because we would like to invite you to our prospective summer camp in 2015 August, "Self-sufficiency in the Shire". This program is organised in the EU Erasmus+ Youth Mobility framework, which endorses international mobility of people under 30 to events promoting non-formal learning, language skills improvement, international fellowship and communities and a deeper understanding (and experience) of democracy.

Our plan so far is a circa 10 day long (with travel) camp set in Vas county (close to the western borders of Hungary), near a lake and in a healthy distance from modern civilisation. The programmes will involve workshops focusing on self-sufficiency and self-sustainment, with hands-on "exercises" provided by experts in, for example, bee-keeping, weaving, mushroom-hunting, husbandry, etc. All this, of course, set in a ideological/narrative framework based on the peaceful and sustainable life of the Hobbits depicted in Tolkien's works, with games, music, dances, good food and a general enjoyment of life!

We would like to know whether anyone from your organisation would like to attend. The budget provided by EU will provide for either the entirety, or the majoriy, of travel costs, and apart from that, the participants do not have to pay anything. However, they have to be under 30, and at least 4 people are needed to enable us to include your country in the project. The age restriction does not apply to the organiser from your part, whom you have to nominate. So, to sum up: we need 4 people, 3 of whom must be under 30, + 1 organiser.
We already have the Lithuanians on the train, so we would be glad if you could join us! Participation also involves some paperwork on your part: you will have a say (if you would like to) in organising some of the programs, and the application requires certain documents from you (e.g., receipts of tickets).

Since the deadline for the application at the EU is the 1st of October, we need a definitive answer from you until the 1st of September the latest. This will allow us to prepare our plans and application with due care, to maximise our chance of success. Please, if you are willing to participate, do not tarry!

Meille tuli siis tällainen sähköposti Unkarin Tolkien Seuralta. Ajateltiin, että se olisi hyvä jakaa täällä, jos suinkin Käärmeestä löytyy asiasta kiinnostuneita ihmisiä. Vielä on pari viikkoa aikaa ilmoittautua.

Elieli jos kiinnostaa ja on 100% varma että "jeij, tuonne haluan", niin voisi huudella asiasta tähän topikkiin, niin voidaan laitella ilmottautumisia (jos niitä tulee tarpeeksi) eteenpäin.
 
Tuo on kyllä oikein mielenkiintoinen, olisi tosin kiva tietää mihin aikaan tuo tapahtuu ja jos budjetti todellakin korvaa matkakulut.
 
Byää, taas meitä enemmän ikää kartuttaneita syrjitään. Tosin myös lapsilukua kartuttaneena en varmaan pääsisi livistämään noin pitkäksi aikaa muille maille, eli ehkä hyvä näin. Toivottavasti saadaan kuitenkin suomalaissaattue matkaan, olisi nimittäin kiva kuulla ja kuvissa nähdä jälkeenpäin, millaista Shire Projectissa oli.
 
Harmi tosiaan ettei tuossa lue että milloin reissuun olisi tarkotus lähteä, elämä on kuitenkin ajoittain sen verran kiireistä etten voi luvata varmuudella mitään monen kuukauden päähän tietämättä tarkkaa aikaa /edit: lukihan siinä että elokuu 2015, taisin sokaistua väliaikaisesti. Mielenkiintoiseltahan tämä todellakin vaikuttaa!

Nyt kun näin ton elokuun 2015 niin voisin ilmoittaa olevani kiinnostunut. :) Kun kerran matkakulut korvataan kokonaan/melkein kokonaan!
 
Joo en huomannut itsekään tuota ajan kohtaa, siinä tapauksessa ilmoittaudun myös hyvin kiinnostuneeksi. :)
 
Tosiaan unohdin aloitusviestissä mainita, että itsekin olisin tästä todella kiinnostunut. Olen ainakin jo ehtinyt tuohon mennessä valmistua, mutta emt olenko liian nössö lähtemään. :p

Thank you for your reply! Just a quick update on the first letter: I made a mistake in it, as the group should consist of 4+1 people, not 3+1. Sorry about the mistake. We will shortly decide on the date, but most of us seems to favour July, so it seems the project will be moved to that month. Would that be better for you?

Heinäkuu kuulostaisi minunkin mielestä ihan hyvältä - ei mulla toisaalta oo mitään elokuutakaan vastaan.
 
Kotiörkin kanssa käytyjen neuvottelujen tuloksena sain pitkän huokaus saatteleman hyväksynnän osallistumiselleni.

Kuinkahan sitovia nämä ilmoittautumiset ovat? Tämä kuulostaa sen verran mielenkiintoiselta että haluaisin mukaan, mutta heinä/elokuu 2015 on mulle vielä jonkin verran epävarmaa aikaa.
 
Joo, täälläkin on yksi erittäin kiinnostunut. Mutta 2015 syyskesä on myös minulle vielä aika epävarmaa aikaa.
 
Millä perusteella valitaan ne ketkä meiltä lähtee, jos kerran 4 + 1 pyydettiin - kiinnostuneita kun näkyy olevan tuota enemmän. Nopeus (oma lehmä ojassa, kjeh khej...)? Sopivuus moiseen edustustehtävään? Vai jokin muu?
 
Olen myös erittäin kiinnostunut tästä tapahtumasta.
Ajankohta kuin ajankohta käy. Järjestelykysymys! :)
 
Eikö siinä sanota "ainakin neljä".

Jos kerran EU maksaa matkakuluja huomattavastikin, olisin kiinnostunut.
 
Ainakin neljä siinä joo lukee, eivät ole sanoneet onko mitään maksimimäärää. Huomenna varmaan vastailen, että heinäkuu näyttää sopivan monelle, niin voin samalla toki kysyä.

Minä käsitin, että oikeasti sitovasti pitäisi nyt päättää, koska he tarvitsevat varmaa tietoa voidakseen sitten EU-juttuja hoitaa. Itsekin olen sinänsä kiinnostunut kyllä, mutta en ihan vielä uskalla luvata - tässä vaan ei ole enää kauhean kauaa miettimisaikaa.

Edit// tai voinhan mä sen sähköpostin nyt jo laittaa, saattaa saada vastauksen sitten aiemmin. :D

this is to remind you that the deadline for a complete list of prospective participants needs to be sent to us until the 1st of September. Earlier submissions are, however, most welcome!

Please, in case any of you, or of the participants, wish to have a hand in the organisation of the programs and the event itself you are more than welcome. Due to the popularity of the event - Eru be praised, we have received lots of positive replies - we have recruited two more organisers: Adrienn Deák (Pillangó) and András Försönits (Föri). They will be in charge of finances.

I am also sending attached a draft of the possible programs we will be having. Obviously, this is under construction - but, I stress this, you are most welcome to provide us with ideas about what more can be included!

And last but not least: the date of the camp has been moved to July, most likely from the 10th until the 19th. It turned out that to most of you (and us as well) this is a more convenient date.

Some of you have asked about what travel expensesthe EU finances. The answer is plain: if the distance you have to travel is between a 100 and 499 kms, the sum granted is 80 euros/person; if it is 500-1999kms, then 170€/person.
A most insensible arrangement. However, since for many of us the 80€ will be actually more than enough, the 170€ will, I believe, be a little higher (but this is not a promise - we will see). Moreover, the earlier you buy your tickets, the cheaper they will be.

Ja vastaus kysymykseen siitä, kuinka moni saa osallistua:
All in all I think that the final number will be around 5-10 people from each visiting country (surely no less than 5, since it cannot be considered a group), with possibly somewhat uneven participant numbers from each country.

Therefore we would like to ask you to please tell us, at your earliest convenience but no later than 1st September, what is the total number of people from your part who are dedicated to come (with, say, 80% or more probability). When we have this info from all participating countries, we will give you exact numbers.

Huomio: vaikka EU maksaa matkoja, se tapahtuu jälkikäteen korvaamalla, joten lentoliput pitää pystyä maksamaan ensin itse.

Eli osallistujia voi olla siis enemmän kuin viisi, mutta koska paikalle on tulossa kuulemma kahdeksasta maasta ihmisiä ja kaikkien yhteiseksi maksimiksi on säädetty 60 henkilöä, tässä vaiheessa ei olla vielä täysin varmoja pääsevätkö kaikki halukkaat.

Nyt siis tarvittaisiin mahdollisimman sitovat ilmoittautumiset kiinnostuneilta. Hallituksen kokouksessa päätettiin, että minä ja Vampire hoidamme tämän projektin etenemistä. Minä nyt törkeästi säätäisin että ilmoittautukaa 28.8. mennessä lähettämällä yksityisviestiä minulle: siihen nimi, syntymäaika, sähköposti ja puhelinnumero. (En ala soittelemaan teille turhia puheluita, ei pelkoa, pelkään puhelinta :D)

Jos käy niin että kaikki eivät mahdu mukaan, niin mietitään sitten mitä tehdään - tässä vaiheessa ei voi oikein tehdä muuta kuin odottaa.

Tapahtuman ohjelma testilinkityksen perusteella pitäisi näkyä teillekin: tadaa! Jos sitä koskevia mielipiteitä tulee niin saa kertoa ja ehdotuksiakin voi tehdä, jos on esim. omia ohjelmaideoita. Mielipiteitä nyt oikein erikseen vielä pyydettiin uusimmassa saapuneessa sähköpostissa.
