A growing sickness in the heart
Distinctive lack of control
The cure is somewhere in the silence
But I'm crushed by the noise inside

Don't lock the door on me
You'd kill me, face down, dead
Another part of me falls for you
Another day in the dark, no, no

Stranded in the night
Stranded in the cold
Don't lock the door on me
You'd kill me, face down, dead
Another part of you gone to waste
Please hear me out
You kill me face down dead
Another day in the dark

Don't lock the door on me
You'd kill me, face down, dead
Another part of you gone to waste
Please hear me out
You kill me face down dead
Another day in the dark

Leave the moment alone
Leave the moment alone
Leave the moment alone
Leave the moment alone

(Joseph Andrew Duplantier)

Mario Duplantier luonnehti veljensä sanoituksia näin: "When you read Joe's lyrics, for me, I cry right away. They're very deep and to the point. No bullshit. We recycle our sadness and depression in the music."

Onhan tuossa tuo "Another day in the dark"-kohta vuodenaikaan sopivasti, mutta oikeasti minä tykkään talven pimeydestä. Iltojen aikaisempi pimentyminen on laiha lohtu.

Kuulin työmatkalla radiosta kappaleen, jonka kertosäe jäi soimaan päähän "All the stars are falling down".

I'm a melancholy man, that's what I am,
All the world surrounds me, and my feet are on the ground.
I'm a very lonely man, doing what I can,
All the world astounds me and I think I understand
That we're going to keep growing, wait and see.
When all the stars are falling down
Into the sea and on the ground,
And angry voices carry on the wind,
A beam of light will fill your head
And you'll remember what's been said
By all the good men this world's ever known.
Another man is what you'll see,
Who looks like you and looks like me,
And yet somehow he will not feel the same,
His life caught up in misery, he doesn't think like you and me,
'Cause he can't see what you and I can see.

Viime viikkoina on tässä useamminkin soinut "Ajetaan me tandemilla." Kappale jota olen kuunnellut ensimmäistä kertaa 1 tai 2-vuotiaana. :)

Matalasta aitiosta katsoin kuinka suuntaa hain

Ajetaan me tandemilla melutaan ja syljeskellään
Kotikylän tanhuvilla kysellään missä häät pidetään
Olen käynyt tiibetissä
Moskovassa rööperissä
Mietiskelin aina missä syy on etten jäädä voi
Pipo päässä pakkasella
Kotiin kelpaa hoiperella
Kesäyötä kuulostella perkeleet kun puissa soi
Kerto...
Olen myynyt nostureita
Kaupitellut kaakeleita
Matkustellut mantereita kunnes mieleen kirkastui
Kylähullu maailmalta
Kotiin suksi palmun alta
Kylä näytti kauneimmalta jälleen tälleen rakastuin
Kerto...

Mgła:n Exercises in futility ll on aivan loistavaa musiikkia, sopii marraskuuhun ja lähestyvään talveen.

There is a style in total denial
A certain elegance of fear
Hesychasm is so much convenient
With the desert within ourselves

Stray dogs lead disciples of Oedipus
As the shrouds gently cover
Exquisite paroxysms of ruin
And well mannered choking on nothingness

Nether

The cracks in soma, psyche and pneuma
Are as one way mirrors
It's one well lit desert
And the pyres extend beyond the horizon
And cold flames flicker upon ashes of hope

Through hallways carved in a crystal
On to the uttermost parts of the pit
Jostling through cadavers of former selves
You would swear there's amusement in the eyes of the dead

Again, nether

A reward for the perseverant:
Unceasing howling of the heart
Bound to walk this path
Nether, again, nether - now and forever

I wish it was classic fire and brimstone
But clearly there is a very special plan
Paved with havoc and shattered virtues
As if there were any other paths

With every dream
The pyres grow taller
An enemy of trust
A misled scholar
Stray philanthrope
In vain endeavor
Walk this path
Now and forever

Kappaleita joissa riimejä oikein tunnutaan asiakseen välteltävän on jotenkin raskaampi kuunnella. Ne eivät rullaa yhtä vaivattomasti eteenpäin.
Kappaleessa on myös hieno positiivinen asenne vastoinkäymisten edessä.

The Amazing Devilin That Unwanted Animal on ollut kestokuuntelussa alkukeväästä asti. Löysin sen katsoessani
The Magnus Archives- fanivideoita YouTubesta. Biisin ahdistava tunnelma on jotenkin vuoteen 2020 erittäin sopiva ja
lyriikatkin ovat mielenkiintoiset.

There’s a second wind coming
As we lie here in our bed
It rattles the bones of our fathers
Carries whispers from the dead

And you, you light a candle
And I make sure the bairns are fed

You turn the telly on
To drown out your fear
You make the bed up silent on the floor
So no-one will hear us
You try so loud to love me
I cannot seem to hear

'Cause you, you touch
My skin peels off like paint
But beneath all of our panting
There’s this noise I cannot shake

('Cause you you touch my pain
All our panting shame)

Can’t you hear that scratching?
There’s something at the door
But the wind has picked us up now
We’re hanging in the air
And as you grip me like an animal
That you’re about to spear

‘Be good to me,’ I whisper
And you say ‘What?’
And I say ‘Nothing dear’

Can’t you hear it?
It can hear you
It wants me to
Throw the plate at the wall

I’m the paper cut that kills you
I’m the priest that you ignored
I’m the touch you crave, I’m the plans that you made, but fuck all your plans I’m bored

And can’t you hear that scratching?
I ask your eyes

I’ve got knuckle burn from typing all these lines into your chest
And as the belt from your buckle is tightening I make shipwrecks out of my dress
And the door below it splinters
And the creature creeps inside

And we fall into each other
The scratching grows so loud
Because that unwanted animal
Wants nothing more than to get out
And I scream

‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’
But you, you’re blind, you bleat, you bear your claws

And you rip my ribcage open
And devour what’s truly yours
And our screaming joins in unison
I cry out to the lord

'Cause if we join our hands in prayer enough
To God I imagine it all starts to sound like applause

Can’t you hear it?
It can hear you
It wants me to…

And those plates they smash like waves
(Place your hand in mine)
And on the wind it howls
(How long can this last?)
But that second wind is coming love, it’s coming for all we own
And on the creature scratches, it doesn’t know how to get out (Let me out)
And you, you follow philosophies
But me, I laugh I choke
‘Well hello, my hollow Holofernes’
I wink but you don’t get the joke
‘Hold the hand of the god-child’ they said
‘As he falls from the sky'
'Be good to me' I beg of him
'Be good to me' I beg of him
Be good, be good, be good, be good, be good, be good, be good
And he replies…

´No no, not I.’

Päivän tunnelmiin hyvin sopivaa melankoliaa...

I found the way
By the sound of your voice
So many things to say
But these are only words
Now I've only words
Once there was a choice
And I want to love
Did I give you much?
Well you gave me things
You gave me stars to hold
Songs to sing
I only want to be loved
And I hurt and I hurt
And the damage is done
You gave me songs to sing
Shadow and sun
Why didn't I stay?
Why couldn't I?
So many lives to cross
Well I just had to leave
There goes everything
Everything
Can I meet you there?
God knows the place
And I'll…

Lyriikoista tuo "The Morrigan stands behind your skill / And the Morrigan sows and reaps at will" on kohta joka ajaa eteenpäin kohti yliopistotutkijan uraa silloinkin, kun tuntuu että ei jaksa tai pysty.

The Morrigan dreams old dreams of flight
The Morrigan sees with another sight
The Morrigan builds with flesh and bone
And the Morrigan fills an empty throne
The Morrigan fills an empty throne
The Morrigan builds with flesh and bone
The Morrigan sees with another sight
And the Morrigan dreams old dreams of flight

The Morrigan knows your time and place
The Morrigan shows a shifting face
The Morrigan stands behind your skill
And the Morrigan sows and reaps at will
The Morrigan sows and reaps at will
The Morrigan stands behind your skill
The Morrigan shows a shifting face
The Morrigan knows your time and place

The Morrigan chooses when to rise
The Morrigan views without her eyes
The Morrigan sees with another sight
And the Morrigan dreams old dreams of flight
The Morrigan dreams old dreams of flight
The Morrigan sees with another sight
The Morrigan views without her eyes
The Morrigan chooses when to rise

Siis. Tämä on vaan niin hyvä.

There once was a ship that put to sea
The name of the ship was the Billy of Tea
The winds blew up, her bow dipped down
O blow, my bully boys, blow

Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguin' is done
We'll take our leave and go

She had not been two weeks from shore
When down on her a right whale bore
The captain called all hands and swore
He'd take that whale in tow

Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguin' is done
We'll take our leave and go

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves -leffan soundtrack soi parhaillaan. Menossa on biisi 7, "Marian at the Waterfall", joka on sangen kaunista kuunneltavaa.

Ihanaa, elämässä on taas muusa!

Eilen sen sijaan surffailin you tuben musiikkimaailmassa.

The HU.
