J.R.R. Tolkien's lore, and actually leads us back to the roots of Tolkien. The message of this pacifist documentary is - hope.
J.R.R Tolkien was originally inspired by Finnish grammar and Finnish national epic The Kalevala. The visually impressive documentary is illustrated with the artworks of awarded American artist
Jef Murray and photos of Finnish nature together with little Liza-hobbit.
Eru Ilúvatar – The Ethos of Tolkien's Lore won the best foreign documentary at the Short Film Festival in Austin, Texas .
Sound design and effects are made by
Ville Wallenius - a musician and sound designer from Helsinki.
The documentary is dedicated to the memory of
Jef Murray (1960-2015).
